EBP Biotechnology (short for EBP) is a local Hong Kong innovation company founded in 2023, located in the Hong Kong Science Park. It has a strong research team and primarily produces products made from new biodegradable, FDA-approved food-grade, sustainable biobased materials. Its goal is to integrate environmental protection into everyday life, allowing everyone to enjoy high-quality products at affordable prices while contributing to sustainability.
The founder, Raymond, is a native Hong Konger, graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During his third year, he became the first student in the department's history to work part-time with a PhD and master's research team on faculty research projects. Inspired by this experience, Raymond dedicated himself to the Hong Kong innovation and technology sector after graduation. He noticed that the main pain points for eco-friendly products were their "high prices" and "poor user experience." For example, wooden cutlery and paper straws often fall short in usability. This motivated him to establish a tech company focused on improving daily life through green technology, making high-quality eco-friendly products accessible at reasonable prices.
Currently, the EBP™️ COLLECTION series includes award-winning eco-friendly cutlery sets (2025 MUSE Design Awards Silver Winner) and biodegradable trash bags, which have gained popularity among users. EBP is also committed to promoting environmental education by providing tailored workshops for primary and secondary schools and various organizations. In just six months, they have served over 1,000 participants and offer science exploration learning kits to enable students to learn hands-on remotely, transcending time and geographical limitations.
